Diploma Programme
The International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme (DP) is a broad-based, two-year course of study for students in Grades 11 and 12, presented through six academic areas.
The comprehensive range of subjects makes the Diploma Programme a demanding course of study that prepares students effectively for college.
Diploma Programme Course of Study
As a part of the DP, students study:
- Two modern languages (or a modern language and a classical language)
- A humanities or social science subject
- An experimental science
- Mathematics
- One of the creative arts or an additional course from the previous subjects.
In each of the academic areas, students have flexibility in making their choices, enabling them to select subjects that they may wish to study during their college careers.
All DP courses are taught through inquiry and are written to complement each other and integrate into a seamless experience for learners. This means, for example, many of the skills and concepts learned in math are applied in science courses, or that research techniques in history are applied to students’ Extended Essay.
